ABOUT MORNING LIGHT MONTESSORI
Welcome from Ms. Aurora,
It is with pure delight that I welcome you to our web page and introduce to you the dream work in progress that is Morning Light Montessori. Building a Montessori learning community is a spiritual journey for me, a calling I have saught to answer since my first experiences with Montessori over 20 years ago. Maria Montessori said, "Within the child lies the fate of the future." Within her methods and philosophies I foud a new hope for the future. We are currently a single classroom, in home learning community that serves families with children ages 3 to 6. I aspire to grow our community to include learners of all ages in the future.
Montessori is often an educational method that parents choose in order to give their child the very best academic start in life. While academic success is a common result of well practiced Montessori, it is only one part of what Montessori education is all about. At Morning Light Montessori we provide a safe, comfortable and fun environment for your child to explore and grow in all aspects of life and at their own pace.

According to Montessori philosophy, education should prepare the child to succeed in all areas of life by addressing physical, emotional, spiritual and intellectual learning needs all together as an integrated system. At Morning Light Montessori children first learn how to learn, by developing learning virtues like independence, concentration, persistence, self discipline and confidence. Then, through exploration of the world by interacting with the prepared environment (both outdoor and indoor), based on the guidance of their own inner teacher, the child finds joy in self discovery and a life long love of learning is cultivated.

Morning Light Montessori guides and encourages each child to discover peace within themselves through practices of silence, nature observation, and moments of reflection. The children and staff practice peaceful interactions with each other and our environment that exemplify respect and love through lessons of grace and courtesy, positive conflict resolution and mindful movements.
With these concepts as a focus for our daily work, we walk beside our parents and families to help prepare their children to be confident, creative, cooperative, conscious and compassionate citizens of the world. I hope you find Morning Light Montessori to be the community that you have been looking for.
